Guided mountain biking in Shropshire

Shropshire is a little-known gem in the mountain bike world, but it has an unbelievable amount of quality bike riding in a county full of places of historical importance. We’ll show you the best mountain biking in Shropshire as well as eating some great food.

Day 1 takes in the Long Mynd, an untapped treasure of the UK that is littered with outstanding scenery and sinuous singletrack. 

Day 1

We leave Ludlow and head North-East towards Church Stretton, the hub of mountain bike activity in Shropshire and the gateway to the Long Mynd. 

We’ll get to Church Stretton around lunch time where we’ll have lunch at one of the many cafés in Church Stretton.

After lunch we climb steadily to the top of the Long Mynd, taking our time to take in the views and the riding. We’ll make our way across the top where we’ll crest the high point of the day, Pole Bank, before rolling towards the Glider Club where we point down the infamous Minton Batch, a sinewy, sweeping descent that sees us rapidly lose the height gained after lunch on some of the most fun Singletrack out there. After a brief stint on the road we’ll finish the ride at the Ragleth Inn, where after some victory drinks we’ll be picked up by our transport and taken back to our start point in Ludlow. 

Day 2

We Leave Ludlow with a packed lunch and make our way up to the first summit of the day, Titterstone Clee Hill. Once summited we will then descend to Cleeton St Mary where we travel on road to Wheathill before starting our ascent of Brown Clee Hill. 

We’ll stop and eat lunch at some point along the trail where there’s a wide selection of beauty spots to stop and have a bite. We’ll then make our way to the highest point in Shropshire before descending an amazing open grassy descent before making our way back to Ludlow on a mixture of back roads and bridleways. 

We’ll arrive back in Ludlow in good time where we can call in and grab a drink at one of the beautiful local pubs.

Accommodation

Included in the price is 2 nights accommodation at the Mount Guesthouse in Ludlow, The Mount is perfectly situated in the centre of town, close to local pubs and restaurants with a secure lockup for bike storage, off street parking and great views over the town.
