The Long Mynd

Guided mountain biking on the Long Mynd in Shropshire

When people talk about mountain biking in Shropshire the first place they can usually recall is the Long Mynd and if they know any of the trails then Minton Batch will be top of the list.

This ride is all about seeing the very best of this iconic landscape. We’ll head out on a mixture of quiet back lanes, bridleways and by-ways making our way to Church Stretton where we can pick up some lunch to take out on the hill, before making the climb up onto the Long Mynd where there is a variety of trail options for most abilities. We’ll climb up onto the historic drovers trail called The Port Way. This ancient trail runs straight over the top of the Long Mynd and takes us up over the high point for the day known as Pole Bank.

The ride is suitable for a beginner/intermediate rider who is comfortable with blue trails and occasional red trails.

What to expect

Shropshire is hilly, there’s no getting away from it. The Long Mynd day ride is approximately 35km in length and has roughly 900 metres of climbing. To be comfortable on this ride it is expected that you will be happy to ride blue and red trails, which means you will be expected to be able to ride singletrack trails with occasional rocky ground.

There will be plenty of options to stop for coffee and food and we can tailor the day to the needs of the group.
